En effet, on ne peut pas \u00e0 proprement parler de laboratoire dans le cas des pionniers de la photographie tels que Ni\u00e9pce, Daguerre, Talbot ou Bayard, pour lesquels on conserve seulement les chambres photographiques et parfois tout ou partie de quelques accessoires en bois servant \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation des images. Les chambres photographiques tiennent du studio de prises de vue et ne peuvent \u00eatre assimil\u00e9es au labo, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire la chambre noire.<\/p>\n<p>Avec le laboratoire de Petiot-Groffier, sont exhum\u00e9s du pass\u00e9 tous les produits chimiques, tous les ustensiles qui, dans la chambre noire, permettaient de pr\u00e9parer les plaques photosensibles puis de r\u00e9v\u00e9ler l\u2019image apr\u00e8s la prise de vue\u00a0: 450 flacons, 500 livres, des chambres photographiques, des accessoires de prises de vue, de pr\u00e9paration et de r\u00e9v\u00e9lation des images, enfin des plaques vierges aussi bien que des n\u00e9gatifs et tirages r\u00e9alis\u00e9s par Petiot-Groffier. Un ensemble exceptionnel qui permet pour la premi\u00e8re fois d\u2019entrer dans la chambre noire d\u2019un des tout premiers photographes de l\u2019histoire.<\/p>\n<p>Le cas de ce laboratoire n\u2019est probablement pas isol\u00e9 et d\u2019autres tr\u00e9sors de ce genre dorment probablement attendant qu\u2019on vienne les d\u00e9couvrir.
