Son p\u00e8re est avocat conseiller du Roi et receveur des consignations du Chalonnais. Il a une s\u0153ur et deux fr\u00e8res.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1786<\/strong> : Joseph entre chez les fr\u00e8res Oratoriens \u00e0 Angers, il se passionne pour la physique et la chimie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1788<\/strong> : Abandon de l\u2019Oratoire et entr\u00e9e dans la garde Nationale \u00e0 Chalon-sur-Sa\u00f4ne.<br>Il signe ses lettres du <strong>surnom de Nic\u00e9phore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1789<\/strong> : R\u00e9volution fran\u00e7aise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1792<\/strong> : Engagement dans l\u2019arm\u00e9e r\u00e9volutionnaire (campagne dans le sud de la France et en Sardaigne).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1794<\/strong> : Nic\u00e9phore quitte l\u2019Arm\u00e9e et demeure \u00e0 Nice. Il se marie. C\u2019est au cours de ce voyage que Nic\u00e9phore et son fr\u00e8re Claude auraient eu l\u2019<strong>id\u00e9e de la photographie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1798<\/strong> : De retour \u00e0 Nice les deux fr\u00e8res se livrent \u00e0 leur <strong>premiers travaux d\u2019inventeurs<\/strong> et travaillent \u00e0 la mise au point d\u2019un nouveau principe moteur bas\u00e9 sur la dilatation de l\u2019air au cours d\u2019une explosion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1801<\/strong> : Nic\u00e9phore et sa famille ainsi que Claude rentre \u00e0 Chalon-sur-Sa\u00f4ne o\u00f9 ils s\u2019occupent de la gestion du patrimoine familiale dont Mme Ni\u00e9pce m\u00e8re avait la charge depuis la mort du p\u00e8re en 1785.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1807<\/strong> : Les deux fr\u00e8res obtiennent pour dix ans un brevet, sign\u00e9 par Napol\u00e9on, pour leur moteur qu\u2019ils nomment <a title=\"Pyr\u00e9olophore\" href=\"https:\/\/bicentennial-of-photography.org\/fr\/pyreolophore-invention-moteur-explosion\/\">pyr\u00e9olophore<\/a>. Il s\u2019agit du premier moteur au monde \u00e0 combustion interne. Premi\u00e8res exp\u00e9riences \u2013 premiers \u00e9checs. Le temps de pose est alors de 5 jours. Le 16 septembre 1824, Nic\u00e9phore Ni\u00e9pce \u00e9crit \u00e0 son fr\u00e8re Claude, habitant alors en Angleterre, les mots suivants : <em>\u00ab J\u2019ai la satisfaction de pouvoir t\u2019annoncer enfin, qu\u2019a\u0300 l\u2019aide du perfectionnement de mes proce\u0301de\u0301s je suis parvenu a\u0300 obtenir un point de vue tel que je pouvais le de\u0301sirer (&#8230;). Ce point de vue a e\u0301te\u0301 pris de ta chambre du co\u0302te\u0301 du Gras ; et je me suis servi a\u0300 cet effet de ma plus grande c.o. [chambre obscure] et de ma plus grande pierre. L\u2019image des objets s\u2019y trouve repre\u0301sente\u0301e avec une nettete\u0301, une fide\u0301lite\u0301 e\u0301tonnante, jusque dans ses moindres de\u0301tails, et avec leurs nuances les plus de\u0301licates. Comme cette contre-e\u0301preuve n\u2019est presque pas colore\u0301e, on ne peut bien juger de l\u2019effet qu\u2019en regardant la pierre obliquement : c\u2019est alors qu\u2019il devient sensible a\u0300 l\u2019\u0153il, a\u0300 l\u2019aide des ombres et des reflets de lumie\u0300re ; et cet effet, je puis le dire, mon cher ami, a vraiment quelque chose de magique. (\u2026) En att[endant] tu peux, de\u0300s aujourd\u2019hui, regarder comme une chose de\u0301montre\u0301e et incontestable, la re\u0301ussite de l\u2019app[lication] de mes proce\u0301de\u0301s aux points de vue, soit sur pierre, soit sur verre. \u00bb<br><\/em>Cette lettre marque la naissance de la photographie, dont le <a href=\"https:\/\/bicentennial-of-photography.org\/fr\/2024\/09\/09\/bicentenaire-de-linvention-de-la-photographie-une-celebration-incontournable\/\">bicentenaire est f\u00eat\u00e9 en 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1824 \u00e0 1826<\/strong> : Images grav\u00e9es sur du cuivre en traitant par la m\u00e9thode des eaux-fortes, les images obtenues avec le bitume. C\u2019est l\u2018ann\u00e9e du mariage de son fils avec Eug\u00e9nie de Champmartin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1826<\/strong> : Images obtenues grav\u00e9es sur de l\u2019\u00e9tain. Extraction d\u2019une f\u00e9cule \u00e0 partir d\u2019une courge appel\u00e9e giraumont. Daguerre d\u00e9couvre le r\u00e9sidu de la distillation de l\u2019essence de lavande sans lui attribuer aucune propri\u00e9t\u00e9 photosensible.<br>En juin les deux hommes travaillent ensemble pendant deux semaines \u00e0 St-Loup-de-Varennes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1831<\/strong> : Travaux sur toutes sortes de r\u00e9sines sans obtenir de r\u00e9sultats positifs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong>1832<\/strong> : En juin, nouvelle visite de Daguerre chez Ni\u00e9pce. Les associ\u00e9s utilisent ensuite comme produit photosensible le residu de la distillation de l\u2019essence de lavande et obtiennent de images en moins de 8 heures de temps de pose.
